National W Club T he National W Club's primary functions are to serve its membership and to support the UW Athletic Department. The organization assists the department in hosting a number of events including the Hall of Fame, Crazylegs Classic and sport and team reunions. The National W Club leads all let- terwinner organizations in the country Wisconsin's game programs rank among the best in the nation. The 2012-13 men's basketball and volleyball game programs earned a first-place ranking nationally and the women's basketball program ranked third nationally. The National W Club hosted or co-hosted in partnership with the UW Athletic Department and Wisconsin Alumni Association two football tailgate parties in 2012. Prior to the home game against Ohio State, about 1,600 revelers attended the Badger Blast/Chili Kickoff tailgate held in the UW Field House. With the Badgers third consecutive trip to the Rose Bowl, the official tailgate party held in Pasadena, Calif., still had more than 3,400 loyal Badger fans in attendance. The W Club also hosts an annual banquet prior to the last home game in November. The 2012 event had more than 250 members and their guest attending.
