At the end of May, Alaska Rush put on the first ever Alaska Airlines College ID Camp and Youth Soccer Camp. 106 players U15+, and 12 college coaches from both men's and women's programs from NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, NCCAA and Junior College institutions participated in the ID camp while 68 players participated in the youth camp. This June was a very busy month for Alaska Rush. Every year during the first weekend in June, Alaska Rush hosts the Alaska Airlines Cup Soccer Tournament. This year, 81 teams – U12-Adult - from three regions of the state (Interior, Southeast, Southcentral) plus two teams from the Yukon convened in Anchorage for Alaska's largest tournament. Congratulations to the Rush 02G who won their division! Rush also sent two teams to the US Youth Soccer Region IV President's Cup in Boise, ID, June 12-16. The 00G team finished with a draw and two losses and the 97G were knocked out in the quarterfinals, giving up only 6 goals in four games in the sweltering heat called June in Idaho. Also in June, Rush sent two teams to Hawaii for the Region IV Championships. Unfortunately, neither 96B nor 99G advanced to quarterfinals. However, even with the temperatures in 80s in which our players are not accustomed to playing (the average summer temperature in Alaska is 60 degrees), the 99G only gave up 5 goals in three games. On Alaska's longest day of the year boasting 20+ hours of daylight, 10 teams from all over the state participated in Alaska Rush's first ever Summer Solstice Cup, a recreational soccer tournament. Alaska Rush 04B won the boys side. Congratulations, Rush! For more information about the Alaska Rush Soccer Club, you can find us online at: www.AlaskaRush.com
