TOGO Rush Togo Rush successfully tests its players against pro teams Togo Rush managed to give some good games to the local professional teams of Lome. The first scrimmage was against flying Star of Lomé. The game took place on the Oscar Anthony of Beniglato field. Togo Rush was leading by 2 goals at half time. The first goal was scored by our 18 year old Tounde (one of the players scouted in Ghana in 2012 that was supposed to travel to USA before their visa has been denied). The second goal was scored by Rodrigue, one the two players that came from Ivory Coast to join Togo Rush. Flying Star found a way to tie the game with an obvious penalty kick, and another ball the Rush side failed to clear before a player from flying Star pushed it into the goal to tie the game. Flying star could have increased the score if it was not for the efforts of the Togo Rush Goalkeeper Agodo Assane who provided an outstanding performance. The second game was against AS Douane. The game took place at Omnisport stadium of Lomé. Both team played an excellent defensive game with the first half dominated by AS Douane before Togo Rush woke up in the second half, with excellent work of Dos Reis Beauvi in the midfield and with a unique opportunity from Rodrigue that hit the post. For more information about the Togo Rush Soccer Club, you can find us online at: www.africarush.com Zambia Rush Rush Zambia Chases Promotion Having played seventeen games, only to lose twice and draw once, the Rush under-17 boys team are leading the Copperbelt Amateur League of twenty teams with a comfortable twelve point lead over the closest rival. The Zambia Rush U17 team is chasing a historical promotion from league two of the Copperbelt Amateur Football (CAF) to league one. The team has scored an average of three goals per game, with current league 'star' Amos Chitalasha scoring 19 goals. The team has played in the provincial league for the first time and is the only one coming from our district. They have a one hundred percent home record, winning all eight games, and an admirable away performance of six wins, one draw and two loses. Captain: Oliver Miti "We are working hard to meet our objectives this year and aspire for greater success. We have good team spirit and organization. Qualifying into the first division of the provincial amateur football league is what my friends and I are doing," says Oliver. The team remains with two crucial away fixtures before starting the return fixtures and is leaving no stones unturned. The technical bench led by John Kalengule and assisted by Coach James Mwila, has intensified training by integrating the laws of the game and nutrition into the main training schedule to optimize performance. "The boys know what is at stake for them; if they win the league, they rise up on the ladder of football and get more exposed on the local scene. My colleagues and I have engaged even the parents and guardians of these boys so that we understand where they are coming from and the challenges that we (parents and coaches) have to overcome to get the best from the boys. This has helped us to work as a family towards building a better team," says Coach Mwila. Once the Togo federation announced the start of the competition, teams needed preseason games. As for Togo Rush, they have also been training without any major competition.
