from the chancellor
It is my honor to welcome you to Williams Stadium and 2013 Flames Football.
You are definitely joining us at an exciting time. Our athletics program is coming
off one of its most successful years, capturing 10 conference titles, including major
wins in football, baseball, and men's basketball. Ten of our NCAA Division I programs
represented Liberty well on the national stage last year.
This is also an exciting time to be on our campus. We are in the middle of a $400
million rebuilding stage, which includes plans for new athletic facilities.
Our five-time Big South Champion Flames Football team is in its fourth season of play
in our expanded stadium, which the Sports Network recently listed among the best
FCS facilities in the country. Many of our guests tell us they enjoy a unique game day
experience here, from the quality of our facilities, to the hospitality of our staff, to the
energy of our fans. One sports columnist from Pennsylvania said last year, "As FCS
game days go, this one was tough to top."
We hope you have a similar experience as you watch the Flames prepare for another
championship year.
