ight years ago, most of
the players on this year's
Big Ten championship team
were focusing on surviving
middle school. Now they are
focusing on surviving the
postseason. Wisconsin will
travel to Eugene, Ore., to
play in an NCAA regional,
marking the team's first appearance since 2005.

"It is a fun time of the year," Healy
said. "When you come off winning a
Big Ten championship, I think you
are happy to go anywhere. Just to be
playing in the postseason after fighting to try and make it, it means a lot
to the program."
Wisconsin won its first-ever Big
Ten tournament championship last
weekend and is looking to top off
that trip with another memorable
one. The Badgers will match up with
North Carolina in the regional's first
game with the potential to meet No.
3 Oregon in the later rounds.
No matter the outcome, the trip
west will provide the Badgers with
another great memory from an already amazing season.
MAY 16, 2013
It is a place the Badgers
haven't been in a while and
it is providing most of them
with the trip of a lifetime.
"We are excited to be going to the NCAA tournament," said head coach
Yvette Healy after the seedings were announced. "It is a
big deal for the program."
The cross-country trip
»Stefanni LaJeunesse was one of
three Badgers to be named to the
Big Ten All-Tournament team,
but a look at her tournament stats
might surprise, as she only had one
at-bat. The freshman was called in
to pinch hit and came up big, twice.
In her first at-bat, LaJeunesse hit a
grand slam. In her second, she was
hit by a pitch. In total, she recorded a 1.000 average and 5 RBI.
