he son of a former No. 1 overall pick
in the NHL draft, John Ramage
carved out his own indelible career
with the Wisconsin hockey program
during his four years in Madison.
He skated in the NCAA title game, won a gold
medal at the 2010 World Junior Championship
and played in the first of two outdoor hockey
games in his freshman season.
He captained Team USA to a bronze medal at
world juniors his sophomore season, before beginning his two-year tenure as the Badgers' captain.
He capped his career with an unforgettable se-
nior campaign that included back-to-back lastminute overtime game-winning goals to provide
UW with its first road sweep at Minnesota State.
It also included an all-tournament performance
in a magical run to the 2013 WCHA playoff
championship and winning the Broadmoor Cup
during UW's final season in the league.
A life sciences communication major and a
fourth-round draft pick of the NHL's Calgary
Flames, Ramage will finish up school during the
summer before heading to camp with Calgary.
He's already signed a two-year contract with the
team.
