Veteran group returns for Big Ten hockey
A
ny way you look at
things, the 2012–13
Wisconsin men's hockey
season was quite a journey.
From the well-documented struggles of the first 10
games of the season, to
the highs of capturing the
2013 Broadmoor Trophy as
WCHA playoff champion
in the school's final season
as a member of the WCHA,
the season will go down as
one of the more memorable
in school history not to end
with an NCAA title.
The Badgers celebrated
the 50th season of the modern era with 1973 and 1983

hockey history. The team
also won a game against
arch-rival Minnesota outdoors at Soldier Field, played

unofficial Big Ten champion was
crowned using games scheduled
between Big Ten schools. UW took

Great promise
» With just three seniors ― John Ramage, Derek Lee and Ryan Little ―
graduating, Wisconsin will boast
10 seniors and seven juniors for
the 2013–14 season, if everyone
returns. Wisconsin had 16 seniors
and juniors during its 2009–10
run to the NCAA title game.
