This weekend, the Badgers hit the pool in Indianapolis at the 2013 NCAA Championships with their eyes set on smashing more records. Wisconsin will send six swimmers to compete in 11 events over three days. Seniors Michael Weiss and Dan Lester and sophomore Drew TeDuits will all 52 �� VARSITY MAR CH 28, 2013 compete in three individual and two relay events. Sophomore Nick Schafer will compete in three total events, while senior Garrett Mulchrone and junior Tyler Hines will each swim in one event. Weiss enters the competition with the Badgers��� best hopes for an NCAA title. The Reno, Nev., native currently holds the top time in the country in the 400-yard individual medley. Weiss will also compete in the 500- yard freestyle, the 200-yard breaststroke and the 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays. Lester will compete in both relay events, as well, while also taking to the pool for the 100- and 200 butterfly and the 200 indidivual medley. TeDuits will join Lester in the 200 individual medley, along with the 100 and 200 backstroke and both relay events. Schafer will participate in the 400 medley relay as well as both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Mulchrone and Hines will race in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Badgers��� best-ever team finish at the NCAA championships was a ninth-place performance in 1960. The championships run this Thursday-Saturday, with preliminary rounds beginning at 10 a.m. (CT) and final rounds commencing at 6 p.m. (CT) each day. Friday and Saturday���s competition will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
