2012 Head of the C harles Club Four Silver M edalists 1992 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT TRADITION Rowers at Boston University not only focus on developing their skill set in the water but also in the classroom and the community. Last year, Terrier Katrina Lyter was awarded CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors for the second consecutive year for holding a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater. Outside the classroom, the team spends much of its time volunteering with various organizations, including the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, the Angel Tree project and the Women Enduring Cancer Row (WeCanRow - pictured with team at DeWolfe). From the CAA to the Patriot League On June 15, 2012, Boston University announced that it will join the Patriot League in 20 sports including women���s rowing starting with the 2013 season. BU will still compete in the 2013 CAA Championship against Buffalo, Delaware, Drexel, George Mason, Northeastern and Old Dominion for the league title on April 19, 2013. Starting in the Fall of 2013, the team will face off in Patriot League competition against the likes of Bucknell, Navy, MIT, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Colgate. Designated the first-ever women���s varsity sport at Boston University, the rowing team has had a rich history at BU, winning back-to-back national championships in 1974-75 and 1991-92. The Terriers have made six NCAA appearances since 1998 and won multiple cups and medals while also having success at the Head of the Charles. THE DEWOLFE BOATHOUSE Dedicated on October 23, 1999, the DeWolfe Boathouse is a first-class facility that serves as the crown jewel of the rowing program. It lays just below the finish line of all collegiate races on the Charles River and serves as the starting line for the annual two-day Head of the Charles Regatta. 2013 ROSTER LIGHTWEIGHT ROWING In February 2012, Boston University devoted more resources to the women���s rowing program by adding a lightweight rowing program. The team began competing at the start of the 2012-13 season and named former BU assistant Malcolm Doldron its first head coach. 2013 SCHEDULE/RESULTS LATEST NEWS
