Though the wins were hard to come by, Ethridge saw glimpses of great things to come, including sweeping rival Washington in the regular season for just the second time since the mid 1970s. The clinching win of the Apple Cup Series was a 33-point victory over the Huskies, the program's largest margin of victory over UW in the NCAA era. • WSU returns three starters and nine letterwinners in all. In addition, Ethridge continues to tap into the inter- national pipeline the Cougs have been known for, as her first recruiting class in Pullman includes three of the four coming from overseas, including reuniting with former Northern Colorado player Krystal Leger-Walker (New Zealand), who will sit out the 2019-20 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules. • Two of the newcomers are centers measuring an average of 6-foot-4: Emma Nankervis (6-3, Mount Eliza, Australia) and Bella Murekatete (6-5, Rwanda). They join a squad that already has four student-athletes measuring 6-foot and up. • Two-time All-Pac-12 honoree Borislava Hristova returns for her final campaign. Since arriving on campus as a freshman, she has been one of the Conference's biggest offensive threats and is looking to become the program's first 2,000-point scorer. A wing, she is a difficult matchup for opponents as a deep threat with the ability to slash, which put her on the free throw line nearly 150 times last season while playing over 35 minutes per game. • Senior Chanelle Molina was on the court a lot last season, setting the program record for minutes played in season (1,131). Second on the team in scoring, she tallied nearly 500 points, while leading the team in assists. • If WSU is going to try to move up the Conference standings, Hristova and Chanelle Molina will need to get some scoring help from the veterans and the newcomers alike.
