2013 FURMAN UNIVERSITY p BASEBALL Player Profiles 31 40 Tyler WOOD Ted ANDREWS St. Louis, Missouri Chaminade Prep RHP p 6-3 p 230 p Junior Cincinnati, Ohio Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy RHP p 6-6 p 220 p Freshman 2012 — Overcame preseason injury and a limited early season workload to reassume his role as Furman's Sunday starter...went 3-7 with a 5.83 ERA...picked up his first win in his second start, a 6-4 triumph over Gardner-Webb (4.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R,1 ER)...followed that up with the second best outing of his career in a 6-1, mid-week road win over UNC Asheville (7.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K)...pitched no-hit ball and faced the minimum over six frames against Asheville before yielding a leadoff single in the seventh and departing after seven innings with a 4-1 lead...won a third straight decision in a 7-4 mid-week road victory at East Tennessee State (6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K)...pitched effectively (6.0 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) but got a no decision in an eventual 8-6, 12-inning road win at The Citadel...hurled four innings of shutout relief (2 H, 0 BB, 3 K) in 5-4, 12-inning victory over Davidson...played summer ball for the Oahu Paddlers of the Hawaiian Collegiate Baseball League, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.00 ERA...pitched a scoreless inning, recording two strikeouts, in the league all-star game on mid-July. 2011 — Stepped in to secure the Sunday starting role as a true freshman...recorded a stellar collegiate debut, throwing a one-hitter (2 BB, 6 K) over eight innings in a 7-0 shutout win over Ohio...performance netted his SoCon Pitcher of the Week honors...other two wins came in a 4-2 victory over Wofford (6.1 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) and 14-7 triumph over Western Carolina (6.1 IP, 10 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 1 BB, 2 K)...finished the season with a 3-5 record and 6.52 ERA...made 15 appearances and 14 starts... issued only 18 walks in 69.0 innings.
