BADGERING... KATARINA ZGRAJA WOMENS HOCKEY A sophomore defenseman, Katarina Zgraja had a breakout freshman campaign leading her class with a +31 plus/minus rating. This season, Zgraja has been a staple for Wisconsin on the blue line, helping the Badgers to the nations fourth-best goals against average (1.56) and ninth-best penalty kill unit (.863). The Waterloo, Ontario, native has also chipped in one goal and three assists, as the Badgers prepare to take on St. Cloud State this weekend for the first round of the WCHA playoffs. As a defenseman, do you like playing on the power play or penalty kill more? I feel more pressure when on the power play, and I enjoy playing our end. I feel more confident in our own end, and its not that I want us to get penalties, but I like being on the penalty kill more so than the power play personally. Would you rather score a highlight-reel goal, or make an amazing pass to set up someone else for a highlight-reel goal? They both sound pretty good, thats a tough one. I would have to say that I would enjoy scoring one more, just because I dont normally have those opportunities. I think it would be cool if I did. If you had to spend every waking moment for the rest of your life with one person from the team, who would you choose and why? Mikayla Johnson, because shes just an upbeat person and we have sweet dance moves together. I wouldnt want to be mopey for the rest of my life, so I would pick Mikayla. Being, probably, the teams biggest Harry Potter fan, would you rather play quidditch at Hogwarts or hockey at Wisconsin? Hockey at Wisconsin, because, the thing that bothers me about quidditch, is that I dont see how its a sport because youre not doing any physical activity. The chasers throw a quaffle around and the beaters whack bludgers around, other than that youre just flying around on a broomstick. I just dont think that I would like it as a sport. Its like NASCAR driving, would you call it a sport? Id rather be more active. 20 VARSITY FEB R UA RY 28, 2013
