UWs tough schedule
takes the team west
Badgers will face a pair of Pac-12 teams
W
isconsins nine-game
win streak is nice and
its 10-1 record is great, but
now the Badgers hit the road
for another test. California.
The Badgers will face a
pair of Pac-12 opponents in
No. 8 California and No. 16
Stanford while at the 2013
Easton Invitational.
The Pac-12 is year-in and

year-out, the nations top
league. The conference has
made 87 appearances at the
Womens College World Series, bringing home 23 titles.
Considering the NCAA has
only sponsored the championship since 1982, that is
impressive.
Every team in the league
but one, Utah, qualified for

the NCAA tournament in 2012.
The tough competition doesnt
stop there for the Badgers. Cal State
Fullerton, an opponent UW plays
twice, claimed one of the other eight
championships that didnt go to the
Pac-12.
Every game in California weve
got six out there and they are all
tough teams theres not going to
be an easy game out there, said head
coach Yvette Healy. There hasnt
been an easy game this whole season.
The Badgers are looking for signature wins to propel them into the
NCAA tournament and California
provides the opportunity for just
that.
Healy notches 200 wins
Lost in the excitement during last
weekends six wins was a milestone
for Healy. UWs win over Georgia Southern on Feb. 22 marked
Healys 200th career victory. Now
in her third season at UW, Healy
holds a 74-43 record wearing the
Cardinal and White.
