Hot streak: Badgers
peaking at right time
UW one game out of top spot in the Big Ten
T
o say the No. 17 Badgers
are rolling at this point
in the season would be an
understatement.
Not only has Wisconsin won six of its last seven
games, but it has done so in
convincing fashion, winning
the last three by at least 20
points.
That stat holds a lot of

weight when surveying the
competitiveness of this years
conference, which boasts
four teams in the latest AP
top 10. It is also remarkable
when put into context of the
history of Wisconsin basketball, as the Badgers have not

Much of the credit has to go to the
consistency of Bo Ryans eight-man
rotation, which has been peaking
both offensively and defensively of
late.
Ben Brust has reached doubledigit scoring in each of the last seven
games, while Sam Dekker, highlighted by his 19-point output against Nebraska, has hit double figures in five
straight games. Traevon Jackson has
also rounded into form at the point,
as the Ohio native has recorded 14
assists and only four turnovers in the
last three games.
Berggren a Naismith candidate
Wisconsin senior forward Jared
Berggren has been selected as one
of 30 finalists for the 2013 Naismith Award, an honor awarded
annually to the nations top player. The senior recently surpassed
Rashard Griffith to claim the top
spot on Wisconsins all-time blocks
list. Berggrens four-block performance against Nebraska gives him
126 for his career.
