BY THE NUMBERS 101 WOMEN���S BASKETBALL With four blocks against Northwestern on Feb. 23, junior Cassie Rochel eclipsed the 100 career blocks mark. The 6-foot-4 post player now has 101 blocks in her career, ranking 10th on UW���s all-time list. 13 MEN���S BASKETBALL With a win at Northwestern last week, Wisconsin clinched a winning record in Big Ten play for the 13th-consecutive season, the second-longest active streak among BCS teams (Kansas, 23). .180 4 16 �� VARSITY FEB R UA RY 28, 2013 SOFTBALL Wisconsin���s pitchers held opponents to a .180 batting average over the weekend at the Diamond 9 Tournament in Orlando, Fla. Meghan McIntosh held opponents to a team-low .163 average, Taylor-Paige Stewart did not allow an earned run in 10.0 innings of work and Cassandra Darrah became the first UW pitcher since 2001 to record a no-hitter. MEN���S TRACK & FIELD The men���s track and field team emerged from a wild 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships with its 26th overall championship under 30th-year head coach Ed Nuttycombe. UW scored 90 points to edge runner-up Illinois (87.5)and come out on top in a race for the title that saw the top five teams (the Badgers, Illinois, Penn State, Nebraska and Minnesota) separated by just four points. The Badgers moved up to No. 4 in this week���s national rankings.
