This fall, Northern Illinois officially announced plans
to construct the Kenneth & Ellen Chessick Practice
Center, an 83,500-square foot facility that will
provide all NIU student-athletes with a year-round
practice and training home. The Chessick Practice
Center will house a full-size, 120-yard artificial
surface football practice field with buffer space
surrounding the field on all sides. It will stand 65feet tall in the center and 45-feet at the sidelines
and will connect directly to the Jeffrey & Kimberly
Yordon Center. Preliminary plans for the Chessick
Practice Center include a four-lane track, batting
cages and a retractable center net, allowing multisport use throughout the winter months.
