Two Badgers close in on record
Badgers pick up first
Big Ten win in style
UW beats Ohio State for first time in 10 years
T
he last time the Badgers
beat Ohio State, most
of the UW team was still in
grade school. With a dominating 68-49 win over the
Buckeyes on Sunday, Wisconsin ended its longest Big
Ten losing streak.
Prior to Sunday's win, the
Badgers had not beaten Ohio
State since Feb. 25, 2001, a

streak of 20 straight losses.
After trailing 29-25 at
the half, Wisconsin won the
game with a strong secondhalf performance. UW outscored Ohio State 43-20 in
the second period, shooting
60 percent from the field (18of-30) while limiting Ohio
State to just five field goals after halftime (5-of-25/.200).
» Junior Morgan Paige was a perfect
11-for-11 from the free throw line
against the Buckeyes on Sunday to
up her streak of consecutive free
throws made to 23. She needs only
three more to break the UW record of 25 consecutive free throws
made set by Michele Kozelka over
three games from Dec. 1-12, 1989.
Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski
has also been near perfect from
the free throw line this season and
has made her last 22 charity shots,
dating back to the Marquette game
on Dec. 5.
That's a lot of minutes!
» Four of the Badgers' five starters
(Cassie Rochel, Paige, Stephen,
Gulczynski) played all 40 minutes
against Ohio State on Sunday. UW
did not sub in the second half and
went to its bench for only three
minutes the entire game.
