Gulczynski honored ���Best in state��� bragging rights on line Sunday Wisconsin faces Green Bay for state crown T he title of the best team in the state is on the line Sunday when Wisconsin (73) travels to Green Bay (7-2). Wisconsin improved to 2-0 against the other Division I teams in the state of Wisconsin with a 71-68 victory over Marquette on Dec. 5. The Badgers opened the season with a 74-56 win over 44 �� VARSITY D EC E M B E R 20, 2012 Milwaukee. The Phoenix defeated Marquette, 55-46, on Dec. 8 and will play Milwaukee twice in Horizon League play. Marquette and Milwaukee do not play each other this season. The Badgers have not beaten all three in-state rivals since 2008. �� Sophomore Jacki Gulczynski was named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week, the first Badgers player to earn the league honor since the 2007-08 season. The 6-foot-1 forward posted back-to-back doubledoubles, setting career highs in points and rebounds in consecutive games. Gulczynski started the week off strong, picking up her first career double-double with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds against Florida Atlantic on Dec. 10. She also added three assists in a career-high 38 minutes of play. Against Eastern Illinois last Saturday, Gulczynski scored UW���s first 11 points and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field to start the game. She finished with career and game highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds, while adding three assists and two blocks in the 76-47 win.
