The 6-foot-6 forward has spent three years hitting the boards with reckless abandon, and it���s now clear that he hits the books with the same intensity. 42 �� VARSITY D EC E M B E R 20, 2012 The Phoenix, Ariz., native is spending his last year of eligibility in Wisconsin���s graduate program, where he will receive his master���s degree in education leadership and policy analysis later this year. ���I really wanted to pursue graduate school, but I knew I had to handle business as an undergrad and stay on pace 8:15 p.m. Next Five Dec. 29 Jan. 3 Jan. 6 Jan. 12 Jan. 15 Higher learning: Evans embraces grad school L, 50-60 W, 65-54 1 p.m. 7:30 p.m. TBA 1:15 p.m. 8 p.m. Samford Penn State at Nebraska Illinois at Indiana to finish in four years to be able to do that,��� Evans said after earning his undergraduate degree in August. ���I can���t say it was easy, but it was worth the long hours and late nights.��� Evans admits the rigors of grad school have resulted in some adjustments, including shifts in his sleeping habits, but he does not regret taking on the heavy task of attending three-hour classes throughout the course of a week while playing a major Division I sport. ���Earning a graduate degree has always been something that���s important to me,��� Evans added. ���Having the opportunity to attend grad school is a huge step in anyone���s life, but to earn it at a university with this kind of academic reputation really puts me in great position to succeed whenever I���m done playing.��� Intra-state interest �� UW has faced all three in-state Division I foes every season under Bo Ryan, compiling a 28-7 record.
